Agumbe is a little town in Shimoga District in the Malnad region of Karnataka at short distance of 100 kms from Bangalore. The town is also called 'The Cherrapunji of the South'. This beautiful town lies in the Western Ghats belt at about 643m above ocean level with a segment of the last marsh rainforests.
Agumbe gets the heaviest precipitation in the southern part of India, which makes it an ideal home to a portion of the picturesque falls, thick timberlands, and waterways. The town is likewise home to India's unparalleled Rainforest Research Station. Agumbe is also one of the most immaculate and hypnotising hills stations in South India.
Also plan a trek towards the Kundadri Hills to witness a gorgeous sunset after which we head back to campsite and enjoy the bonfire. And that’s not all. We will also venture on a night trail in the jungle to witness some mammals, snakes and insects!
