Road trips are enormous fun, and we love them. Sometimes though, we find people have a certain reluctance about it; they hesitate to make such plans.

We’re here to dispel some myths about road trips, and completely wipe out any indecision you might have!

Myth #1: Road trips are too long.

Fact: A road trip can be as short or long as you want it to be! Sure, people sometimes have really long road trips planned, and they love it. But if you don’t want to do that, or if you just want to start small, it’s perfectly possible to have a short weekend trip. In fact, you can even do a day trip, and be back home by night, in the comfort of your own home. It is completely possible to go on a road trip that is as long or as short as you want. Myth #2: Road trips are tiring.

Fact: This is something we’ve read very often and we have to tell you, this is NOT true! Road trips can be as scheduled or as easygoing as you want. It is up to you what you want to do. If you want to travel more and drive more and reach places faster, you can. If you want to take it slow, soak in the sights and sounds, and have a relaxed holiday, you can. There are no rules here! Myth #3: You get no breaks on road trips.

Fact: You can take as many breaks as you want. In fact this is why road trips are so much better than a tour bus or train ride. You can stop whenever you want, wherever you please, and do anything your heart wants. Unlike other modes of transport, you can stop your own vehicle if something catches your eye, if you want to explore something, or just want to halt for a rest. As we said, there are no rules! Myth #4: You can get sick very easily on road trips.

Fact: So, there’s a bit to explain here. You will not get sick on the majority of road trips. If you have motion sickness, there are still OTC medicines available for you, so you can enjoy the trip.

Yes, there are some trips where there is a possibility of getting sick, like if you are going to the mountains, with high altitude and rarefied air. Here too, there are preventive measures that can be taken to reduce to possibility of sickness. And really, that’s just how the atmosphere is in such places. It has nothing to do with your chosen mode of transport. Hence, for a majority of road trips, it is very unlikely that you will fall sick.

Myth #5: Road trips are too expensive.

Fact: The truth, simply put, is actually this – road trips, like any trips, can be as affordable or expensive as you want it to be. That’s it. And that’s true for absolutely any kind of holiday. You can always create your trip in such a way that it fits into your budget. There is no reason why a road trip would be more expensive than other options. Myth #6: Road trips are unsafe.

Fact: Safety is of course paramount in any holiday or outing. If you are stressed about your well-being, how will you enjoy your holiday? We completely understand that, and RTC focuses on your safety. Always. It is always good for you to also be prepared and aware of your surroundings, because being alert and observant is recommended at all times, and not just when you are on holiday.
